Hi!

We’re Carmen, Dave and Ruby and we love to travel!

Before Ruby was born in 2016, we travelled around the world for four years, house sitting in a number of different countries across four continents.

We both grew up with pets and house sitting was the perfect way for us to live in the comforts of a home while getting to look after furry friends for a period of time.

After having two years off travel to have Ruby, we are now back travelling full-time, toddler in tow!

So, how do we fund our adventures?

We work for ourselves, running our little copywriting biz Red Platypus.

Before we founded our company, we both worked as journalists for various organisations. Dave’s resume includes the BBC, ABC, Al Jazeera, Sky News and Fairfax. Carmen worked for various magazines before joining a creative agency where she produced content for big names such as the Royal Bank of Scotland and Shell.

Before we travelled, we lived in London for four years as we worked up the corporate ladder. These days, we prefer working on the beach in one of the many sun-kissed places we happen to be visiting.

Originally from Perth, Western Australia, we are really excited to be showing our baby girl our home country as we travel around in a caravan for the next year (or more!)
